The University was established
in December 1998 as Government Technical Institute (GTI) to provide the needs
of skilled technicians in the growing industry of science and technology. In
January 2001, GTI was reformed to Government Technological College (GTC). GTC
was upgraded to Technological University on 20, January 2007. The university
was moderated by the Ministry of Science and Technology until 2016 from it was
established and now it has been processed under Ministry of Education. The
University has been fully funded by the Government since it was founded. Campus
is 91.33 acre (0.369 km2) wide and it was located at Kyaukse
Township, Mandalay. 218 full time teaching staffs and 63 administrative and
supporting staffs are employed. 3145 students have been studying in the nine
engineering programs. The University offers eight
science and engineering programs including Civil Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Metallurgical
Engineering, Information Technology, Nuclear Technology and Biotechnology.
